Hello and welcome to “Turn Left at the Bakery”
I hope that you will enjoy some of the content and will accompany me on my journey as I take you through life with me, Millie.
It’s never dull and never boring, (except perhaps on a wet Sunday in January, that’s a little testing) but other than that, I’m sure you’ll enjoy the ride, as I do, every day.
I was telling someone just this morning in the coffee shop about my new friend Simon the homeless Tramp and I was met with “Oh…that’s so you Millie”.
But what IS me? Hopefully I can take you with me and on our journey, you will see, just by opening your eyes, (and your mouth) you too can experience the magic and amazing events that continue to pepper my life, they need to be shared and I want to do it with you.
So who am I?
The BFF always says “Give M a card shop and a cake shop and she’s content” True, to a certain extent, but at the risk of sounding a little like Julie Andrews, here are a few of my really favorite things things I love.
I love people, foreign travel, music, the North Yorkshire Moors, the Northumbrian coastline, pretty villages in wintertime, the Scottish Highlands, good coffee, theatre, cosy remote cottages with log fires, walks on a deserted beach in winter, snow, afternoon tea, beautiful hotels, good food, astrology, coffee shops, Egyptian cotton sheets, cake, markets, dogs, cute tiny country pubs, angels, Green Park, the countryside and … Someone.
I don’t like arrogance, bad manners, meanness, cruelty, queuing, butter beans, untidiness, instant coffee, wasps, unreliability, lies and brass door knockers that aren’t polished!!
So there we are, that’s the superficial me, but with sun in Sagittarius, moon in Scorpio and Taurus rising, every day presents an adventure.
Life is what you make it. You can walk along staring at the ground and meet no-one, or hold your head up high and speak to everyone you meet. Try it, just see what comes back and, like being happy, it becomes a habit.
You know, in life you may not always end up where you thought you were going, but you’ll always end up where you were meant to be!
Let’s begin our journey…
Come with me!
